Rally di Roma Capitale prepares to host a record ERC1 field for the 2026 FIA European Rally Championship round.

ROUND THREE OF THE FIA EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP ATTRACTS 85 ERC-ELIGIBLE CREWS, INCLUDING A RECORD 39 ERC1 ENTRIES

Rally di Roma Capitale has set a new entry record for the FIA European Rally Championship, with the 2026 edition attracting the biggest ERC1 field of the current era.

The all-asphalt event, which forms round three of the 2026 ERC season, will run from 3-5 July and has drawn 85 crews eligible for ERC points across the championship categories.

The headline figure comes in ERC1, where 39 Rally2 crews are entered. That breaks the current-era ERC record of 38 ERC1 entries, previously set by Rally di Roma Capitale in 2025 and Rally Serras de Fafe, Felgueiras, Boticas, Vieira do Minho e Cabeceiras de Basto in 2023.

Roma’s record-breaking entry also highlights the depth of the support categories. A total of 16 crews are entered in FIA ERC3, while 30 cars will compete in FIA ERC4, including 16 entries in FIA Junior ERC.

Elsewhere, the FIA Master ERC category has attracted seven entries, while 10 crews are set to compete in the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy.

In total, the event has received 113 entries, including 85 drivers with ERC priority status representing 25 countries. A further 28 drivers without ERC priority status come from four additional countries.

The 2026 edition of Rally di Roma Capitale will feature a significantly revamped route, adding another layer of intrigue to one of the ERC calendar’s most prominent asphalt events. The rally also counts towards the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco.
