LANCIA FIELDS FOUR-CAR WRC2 ATTACK FOR ACROPOLIS RALLY GREECE

YOHAN ROSSEL LEADS LANCIA’S FOUR-CAR CHALLENGE AS THE ITALIAN BRAND PREPARES FOR ONE OF THE TOUGHEST GRAVEL EVENTS ON THE WRC CALENDAR

Lancia will field four Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale cars at Acropolis Rally Greece, marking the brand’s biggest WRC2 presence of the season as round eight of the FIA World Rally Championship heads to one of the calendar’s toughest gravel events.

The Greek rally, which features 323 competitive kilometres and temperatures expected to exceed 40°C, will provide a major test of reliability, tyre management and endurance for both crews and machinery.

Leading the Lancia line-up is Yohan Rossel, co-driven by Arnaud Dunand, as the Frenchman looks to reclaim the lead of the WRC2 standings from team-mate Nikolay Gryazin. Rossel arrives in Greece with strong form at the event, having already secured three WRC2 podium finishes there.

The Acropolis Rally will also mark Léo Rossel’s first WRC appearance with the Lancia family through the 2C Junior Team. Co-driven by Guillaume Mercoiret, he heads to Greece level on 52 points with brother Yohan, creating a notable family battle in identical machinery.

Lancia’s four-car entry is completed by Pablo Sarrazin and co-driver Yannick Roche, while Conner Martell joins the line-up alongside experienced co-driver Alessandro Gelsomino.

Acropolis Rally Greece begins on Thursday 25 June with a Super Special Stage at the Ellinikon Sports Centre in Athens, before the crews move to the gravel stages. Friday features six special stages, Saturday adds another six stages over 108 kilometres, and Sunday concludes the event with four stages covering 84 kilometres.

With rough roads, changing grip levels and extreme heat all expected to play a major role, Acropolis Rally Greece is set to be one of the most demanding rounds of the WRC2 season for Lancia’s expanded line-up.
