THREE-TIME EUROPEAN CHAMPION SET FOR FIRST FIA EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP START SINCE 2017 AS RALLY POLAND MOVES TO KATOWICE
Kajetan Kajetanowicz will make his return to the FIA European Rally Championship next month when the Polish rally star contests 82nd Rally Poland on home soil.
The event, scheduled for 24-26 July, will mark Kajetanowicz’s first competitive ERC appearance since securing his third consecutive European title in 2017. The 47-year-old remains the only driver in history to win the championship three years in a row.
Kajetanowicz will compete in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 run by RaceSeven, with long-time co-driver Maciej Szczepaniak alongside him for the return to the all-action European series.
This year’s Rally Poland will also bring a significant change in format, with the event moving away from the gravel roads of Mikołajki to the Tarmac stages of Katowice. Kajetanowicz is set for his 11th Rally Poland start, adding another chapter to a career closely linked with the event.
After establishing himself as one of the ERC’s standout names, Kajetanowicz stepped up to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2018 and later claimed the WRC2 Challenger title in 2023. His record also includes four Polish championship titles and seven ERC event wins.
The Rally Poland appearance will also take Kajetanowicz back to familiar ground. In 2003, he made his Polish championship debut on Rajd Śląska, on a route similar to the one that will host ERC competition next month.
