M-SPORT ACQUIRES CUSTOM CAGES IN STRATEGIC SUPPLY CHAIN MOVE

M-Sport has announced the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Custom Cages Limited, strengthening its rally car manufacturing operation by bringing a long-standing roll cage supplier into the company.

Based in Daventry, England, Custom Cages has been manufacturing FIA-compliant roll cages and tubular structures since 1985, supplying teams competing in the FIA World Rally Championship, touring cars, GT racing and the Dakar Rally.

The acquisition formalises a partnership that has existed between the two companies since 2005, although their relationship extends back more than three decades. Custom Cages currently supplies the roll cage tubing used across M-Sport's production vehicles, including the recently developed Ford Raptor T1+.

According to M-Sport, the agreement not only secures a key part of its supply chain but also creates opportunities for greater technical collaboration and business growth across multiple areas of motorsport.

Custom Cages will continue operating from its existing Daventry facility without changes to day-to-day operations. Director Kevin Mawson will continue leading the business following the departure of long-time director Roger Nevitt, who leaves after more than 40 years with the company.

The acquisition also broadens M-Sport's manufacturing capabilities through Custom Cages' expertise in tubular chassis, suspension components, harness bars and bespoke motorsport structures. The company currently offers roll cage solutions for more than 500 vehicle models from over 50 manufacturers, with products built to FIA and Motorsport UK regulations.

Roger Nevitt said the timing of the transition aligns with the introduction of the FIA World Rally Championship's new technical regulations scheduled for 2027, while expressing confidence that M-Sport's investment will support the company's future development.
