ALI TÜRKKAN SET FOR FIRST WRC2 START AT ACROPOLIS RALLY

TÜRKİYE TO FIELD TWO CREWS IN 2026 WRC ROUND IN GREECE

Türkiye will be represented by two crews at the 2026 Acropolis Rally, round eight of the FIA World Rally Championship, with Ali Türkkan preparing to make his first start in the WRC2 category.

Türkkan and co-driver Oytun Albayrak head to Greece after winning both the WRC3 and Junior categories at the Acropolis Rally in 2025. The Turkish pair will now step up to WRC2, competing in a Ford Fiesta Rally2 under the banner of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED).

A second Turkish crew will also contest the event, with Uğur Soylu and Mehmet Akif Yalçın set to compete for GP Garage My Team in a Škoda Fabia RS. Soylu has been competing in the WRC Masters Cup classification for the past three seasons.

The Acropolis Rally will take place in Greece from 25-28 June and is one of the toughest events on the WRC calendar. The rally begins on Thursday 25 June at 19:00 with a spectator stage.

The event covers a total distance of 1,165 kilometres, with six special stages scheduled for Friday, six on Saturday and four on Sunday.

For Türkkan, the main focus of the weekend will be his first appearance in WRC2 after last year’s category wins on the same rally, while Türkiye will also have a second crew on the entry list through Soylu and Yalçın.
