LATE DRAMA FAILS TO DENY SKODA CREW FIRST ARC VICTORY SINCE 2024
Scott Pedder and Glenn Macneall returned to the top step of the podium in the EROAD Australian Rally Championship after securing victory at the ARC Plant Hire Forest Rally despite a tense finish on Sunday.
The Pedders Rally Team protected by Famous Insurance crew claimed their first ARC win since the 2024 Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland, overcoming a late puncture scare to secure the overall event victory in their Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.
Pedder and Macneall entered Sunday with momentum after winning Saturday's Heat and quickly strengthened their position. The pair won three of the opening four stages and built a 10-second advantage over their rivals.
However, the rally took another dramatic turn during the afternoon loop when a spectacular puncture threatened to undo their hard work. Despite the setback, the experienced crew managed the situation effectively and held on to secure the overall win.
Harry and Coral Taylor capped off a strong weekend by claiming victory in Heat 2 and finishing second overall, while Lewis Bates and Anthony McLoughlin secured Power Stage honours and completed the event podium.
