TAYLOR GILL FINISHES FOURTH IN WRC2 ON ŠKODA FABIA RS RALLY2 DEBUT

AUSTRALIAN CREW TAYLOR GILL AND DANIEL BRKIC IMPRESS ON THEIR TOKSPORT WRT DEBUT AT RALLY DEL PARAGUAY

Taylor Gill and Daniel Brkic finished fourth in WRC2 at Rally del Paraguay, making an impressive debut with Toksport WRT and the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 at the eleventh round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

The Australian crew quickly emerged as Škoda’s strongest WRC2 performers at the demanding Paraguayan event, securing fourth place in their first rally with the Toksport WRT team.

The result came during a difficult weekend for several leading Škoda crews. WRC2 championship leaders Robert Virves and Jakko Viilo lost their chance of a strong result on the opening stage and ultimately finished outside the points positions. Despite that result, they left Paraguay with their overall WRC2 Drivers’ and Co-Drivers’ Championship leads intact.

Fabrizio Zaldívar and Marcelo Der Ohannesian were also fighting for a podium position before a late off dropped the Paraguayan-Italian pairing to ninth in WRC2.

GILL AND BRKIC LEAD ŠKODA’S WRC2 CHALLENGE

With the established crews encountering difficulties, Gill and Brkic delivered the standout Škoda result in WRC2.

Their fourth-place finish marked a successful first outing for the Australian pairing with Toksport WRT, adding another strong result to their Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 debut.

ZALDÍVAR FAMILY MAKES HOME RALLY APPEARANCE

Rally del Paraguay also featured three members of the Zaldívar family, all competing in Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 cars entered by MZR Paraguay.

Miguel Ángel Zaldívar and Juan José Sánchez won the WRC Masters Cup classification and finished 10th in WRC2. Miguel Zaldívar finished seventh, while Fabrizio Zaldívar and Marcelo Der Ohannesian took ninth after their late off.

Thousands of spectators attended the ceremonial start and lined the rally stages throughout the event.
