RALLYONE PROJECT WRC 2027 CAR SET FOR FIRST TEST IN AUGUST

The RallyOne Project WRC 2027 programme has reached a significant milestone, with its first privately built WRC27-specification car expected to be completed next month ahead of an initial testing programme beginning in August.

Project leader Lionel Hansen confirmed that the vehicle's technical study and design phase has now been completed, while the first homologation chassis is in the final stages of production before technical validation by the FIA.

Assembly of the first development car, built to the final FIA Rally1/WRC27 technical regulations, is scheduled to begin next month.

"The first phase of the project, focused on technical studies and vehicle design, has now been successfully completed in line with our objectives."

The first validation tests are planned for August and will launch an initial programme of at least six test sessions. The team's primary objective during this phase is to assess the reliability of every component across different surfaces before concentrating on performance development and vehicle setup.

Provided gravel and asphalt testing progresses as planned, RallyOne Project intends to complete two competition cars before the end of 2026.

The current objective is to have both cars ready for the opening round of the 2027 FIA World Rally Championship, the Monte Carlo Rally, where the new WRC27 regulations are expected to begin.

The 17-member project combines experience from across international rallying. Former Hyundai team manager Alain Penasse leads sporting management and strategy, while renowned rally car designer Jean-Claude Vaucard serves as principal technical advisor.

Jeremy Chevallereau coordinates the project's technical operations alongside suppliers and partners, Florent Biard heads vehicle development, and Benoît Blaise oversees workshop planning and assembly of the first chassis.

Looking ahead, Hansen said the coming months will be decisive for the programme.

"The next six months will be crucial to the success of RallyOne Project. Meeting a demanding development schedule will be essential to ensure the car is ready to compete at the highest level under the new FIA regulations."

RallyOne Project is working alongside Faster Racing, WRT Manufacturing, Marelli Motorsport, Multimatic and OMP Racing as development continues towards its planned WRC debut in 2027.
