OGIER RETURNS, SORDO JOINS HYUNDAI AND WRC2 BATTLE HEATS UP IN GREECE
The 70th EKO Acropolis Rally Greece is set to deliver one of the strongest entry lists of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship season, with 63 crews entered across WRC, WRC2, WRC2 Challenger, WRC3 and WRC Masters Cup categories. The gravel classic moves to its new base in Loutraki and features 17 special stages covering more than 323 competitive kilometres.
Toyota Gazoo Racing arrives with a formidable Rally1 line-up led by championship leader Elfyn Evans, alongside eight-time world champion Sébastien Ogier, Oliver Solberg, Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari.
Hyundai counters with reigning world champion Thierry Neuville, Adrien Fourmaux and the returning Daniel Sordo, whose appearance adds further experience to the Rally1 field.
M-Sport Ford fields four Puma Rally1 cars for Mārtiņš Sesks, Joshua McErlean, Jon Armstrong and local favourite Jourdan Serderidis. The four-car line-up gives M-Sport its largest Rally1 presence of the season.
WRC2 PROMISES A THRILLER
The WRC2 category is arguably the headline support battle with more than 30 Rally2 entries.
Among the leading contenders are Yohan Rossel in the new Lancia Ypsilon HF, Andreas Mikkelsen, Gus Greensmith, Roope Korhonen, Alejandro Cachón, Jan Solans and Estonian prospect Robert Virves.
The event also features several national stars, including Greek drivers Lambros Athanassoulas, Panagiotis Roustemis and Epameinondas Karanikolas.
TURKISH INTEREST IN WRC2
Türkiye will be represented by Ali Türkkan and co-driver Oytun Albayrak in a Ford Fiesta Rally2, while Uğur Soylu and Mehmet Yalçın will compete in a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. Both crews are entered in the highly competitive WRC2 field.
WRC3 FIELD LED BY YOUNG TALENTS
Seven Rally3 crews are entered for WRC3, with Polish drivers Tymek Abramowski and Grzegorz Bonder among the favourites. Local hopes rest on Georgios Vasilakis and Nikolaos Ntavaris.
